(Review of Hunting Badger)
Tony Hillerman has been a favorite over the years. His talent of describing the scenery and the feel of the Southwest has been extrodinary. I felt that this offering was somewhat weak in comparison to his earlier works. I’m not certain that it was a wise move to retire Joe Leaphorn. His entry into the stories now feels awkward and contrived. The personal lives of Joe and Jim have also become confusing. I wish Tony would emphasize the plot and the scene. - Reviewer from Utah
