Amanda Quick strikes again! I enjoyed this light story, although it follows the standard Amanda Quick plot. - Reviewer from NH
not one of Ms. Quick’s best
(Review of I Thee Wed)
Generally, I am a HUGE fan of Amanda Quick. She introduced me to the world of historical romances and continues to be my favorite author. However, I found this book to be far less intriguing than the others I have listened to on tape or read myself, and found my attention to the book wandering. The characters were enjoyable, as always, and the story grabbed me immediately, but I eventually found it slow going and was disappointed in the amount of romance between the two main characters. They were most definitely attracted to one another, but there was so little intimacy that I continually found myself hoping they’d discard their misconceptions of the others emotions and be honest with one another. However, Barbara Rosenblat, as always, does a remarkable job narrating. Her continuous ability to create a distinct voice for all the different characters amazes me and makes her stories a delight to listen to. With other narrators, I sometimes find it difficult to differentiate some of the characters, but that is never the case with Ms. Rosenblat. Not only is it obviously helpful to be able to do so, but the voice she decides to use helps me get an idea of the characteristics of the individual shes bringing to life. She hasn’t disappointed me yet. - Reviewer from Bradenton, FL
