Beverly Jenkins

​Beverly Jenkins has received numerous awards, including five Waldenbooks/Borders Group Best Sellers Awards, two Career Achievement Awards from Romantic Times magazine, and a Golden Pen Award from the Black Writers’ Guild. Ms. Jenkins was named one of the Top Fifty Favorite African-American writers of the 20th Century by AABLC, the nation’s largest online African-American book club. She was nominated for the NAACP Image Award in Literature.

Beverly Jenkins grew up in Detroit and majored in journalism and English literature at Michigan State University. She has been featured in many national publications, including the Wall Street Journal, People, the Dallas Morning News, Vibe, and many other publications. She speaks widely on both romance and 19th-century African-American history. She has lectured at such prestigious universities as Oberlin University, the University of Illinois and Princeton.
