James Jenner

James Jenner is rooted in the belief that the actor’s role is that of storyteller, with language as his tool. He has coproduced and performed in more than 125 plays with the Oasis Theatre Company.

James trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has worked at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., other regional theaters, Off-Broadway companies, and in tours throughout the United States, England, and Hong Kong.

With the Oasis Theatre Company, James has performed such timeless roles as King Lear, Hamlet, Iago, Leontes, Jaques, Malvolio, Alceste, Don Juan, Tartuffe, Harpagon, Sganarelle, Uncle Vanya, Solness, and Lee in True West, all directed by Oasis artistic director Brenda Lynn Bynum.

He has recorded numerous audiobooks with Recorded Books and is the recipient of AudioFile Earphones Awards for Boone and The Rabbit Factory. James was also an Audie Award finalist for Snowbound.

James gives special thanks to Brenda Lynn for guiding and encouraging him to send his tape to Recorded Books producer Claudia Howard. It’s been a great ride ever since.
