Jenny Sterlin

Jenny Sterlin is a critically acclaimed British actress who trained at the Birmingham Theatre School in England before starting her professional career in "weekly rep" in Swansea, Wales. She has worked extensively in the USA, Canada and England, and she now lives in New York.

She has appeared on- and Off-Broadway and in films and TV. She is the artistic director of DoubleDecker Productions and a founding member of Appletree Theatre, UK. She has directed and taught in New York, Boston, San Francisco and England.

She has recorded over 100 audiobooks, garnering rave reviews and awards. Some of the authors she loves to record include Ruth Rendell, Deborah Crombie, Thomas Hardy, Katherine Mansfield, Christina Henry, Laurie R. King, Zen Cho, Zadie Smith, D. H. Lawrence, Ursula K. Le Guin, Peter Hoag, Gregory Maguire, Kaye Umansky and Diana Wynne Jones, among others.

The book that will always stand out to her is The Beekeepers Apprentice by Laurie R. King. It was her first audiobook and it was for Recorded Books in 1995. It has given her the chance to give voice to a multitude of characters, regardless of age or sex. Jenny states, “I have worked with wonderful people over the last 22 years in the audio business, which has been mostly with Recorded Books.”
