Norman Dietz

Since 1986, when his recording career began at Recorded Books, Norman Dietz has worked with singular success as a narrator of unabridged audiobooks, performing some 200 books for a variety of audio publishers. Many of his recordings have won Earphones Awards from AudioFile, Listen-Up Awards from Publishers Weekly, and other honors. In addition, AudioFile has named him a “Best Voice of the Century.”

During his career, the actor has also made his living in radio and television, and he continues, occasionally, to lend his voice to public-television documentaries. His own comic novel, Nailing It, was released as an audiobook in 1984, with Norman himself performing the narration. For over 25 years, he toured from coast to coast, often in the company of his late wife, Sandra, presenting live performances of his writing before college and university audiences all over the United States and Canada. During a stay in New York City, he and Sandra acted together, and Norman directed, to critical acclaim. He now lives on a brick-paved alley in the downtown historic district of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
