Rachel Botchan


Rachel Botchan, a prolific audiobook narrator, was a long-time company member of the Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Pearl Theatre Company, performing in over 40 of their Off-Broadway productions.

Favorites include A Taste of Honey, The Winter’s Tale, Uncle Vanya, The Rivals, And Away We Go (by Terrence McNally, world premiere), Bald Soprano, Playboy of the Western World, Hard Times, Vieux Carre, Toys in the Attic, Heartbreak House, The Cherry Orchard, Romeo and Juliet, and Richard III (for which she received the St. Clair Bayfield Award for her performance as Lady Anne).

She has also performed Off-Broadway with New Yiddish Rep/La Mama in God of Vengeance and National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene in A Klezmer’s Tale, The Blacksmith’s Folly and The Maiden of Ludmir, originating the title role.

Selected regional credits include Two River Theatre in Picasso at Lapin Agile, Philadelphia Theatre Company in Orson’s Shadow, for which she received a Barrymore nomination for best supporting actress, Milwaukee Repertory Theatre in You Can’t Take It with You, Virginia Stage in Private Lives, and the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Cincinnati Playhouse in King Lear.

Ms. Botchan received her BFA from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.
