MP3 CDs contain compressed audio files, which means that they can accommodate more audio than standard CDs. The average audiobook comprises approximately eight CDs. In general, audiobooks up to 10 CDs can be stored on one MP3 CD.
MP3 CDs require special drives to play correctly. On computers, the CD/DVD drive is already set up to accept MP3 CDs, and most new cars since 2006 are equipped with players that are MP3-compatible.
While MP3 CDs are still packaged in our sturdy SecureSoundTM cases, they take up less shelf space in libraries and require less processing. And for audiobook patrons, this means fewer discs to handle.
Standing Order Plans (SOPs)
SOPs guarantee the delivery of outstanding new titles each quarter, with titles recorded and automatically shipped at a 20% discount. The number of titles in an SOP varies by plan, and most SOPs allow customers to select a smaller number of titles than the maximum number specified for the SOP. Free shipping is included and full digital processing is available upon request. Bundle CD shipments with an eAudio purchase for RBdigital* and take advantage of the greatest savings!
