A frantic phone call from an old and dear friend on the other side of the world sends Henrie O to San Antonio, Texas, in search of her friend's granddaughter, Iris Chavez. Iris had been working at the family-owned Tesoros Gallery, a shop renowned for the priceless treasures it hunts for its rich and famous patrons. Iris has disappeared without a word; her apartment has been ransacked, yet nothing is missing. And nobody at Tesoros seems to care. Why? Somewhere in the gallery or among the family members is a secret - a secret Henrie O must uncover if she is to find Iris.

"A 60-something ex-reporter goes to San Antonio to look for a friend's missing granddaughter. The girl turns up, but Henrie O. sticks around to solve two murders and a jewel theft centering on an exclusive Mexican art shop. Reading does well with all the Spanish words and capably brings out Henrie O.'s intelligence, tenacity and resourcefulness. (Actually, she's a bit of a busybody.) However, her voice doesn't sound old enough for a senior citizen. Ah, for Joan Hickson! Henrie O.'s adventures, all read by Reading for Books on Tape, take her to some of America's colorful locations. J.B.G. (c) AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine"
