Georgia Nicolson is in the oven of luuurve, possibly on her way to the bakery of pain. And as she says, "Being in the bakery of pain is vair vair boring." Forty-eight hours ago she gave Masimo the Italian Stallion an ultimatum-be her one and only or else. Masimo said he'd think about it. At the peak of hornosity, Georgia is confused about what to do next. While she waits for Masimo's answer, she can't help thinking about her occasional snogging partner Dave the Laugh, who might be in love with her. Her best mate Jas isn't any help, since all she ever does is talk in her silly girlie voice to her boyfriend Tom. It's all a bit much for a girl riding the express to the World of Certifiably Bonkers. From New York Times best-selling author Louise Rennison, Startled by His Furry Shorts continues the hilariosity-filled confessions of everyone's favorite self-obsessed British teenager. "Fans of Georgia will enjoy this latest installment, and those just getting to know her will immediately search for her previous adventures after finishing this one."-Children's Literature

by Louise Rennison
"Sassy teenager Georgia Nicholson returns in her seventh book. Plagued by typical adolescent woes relating to family, friends, and boys, she often turns to her diary or invents new vocabulary to express her angst, such as calling her life the "cake shop of agony." Author and narrator Louise Rennison does an admirable job of bringing her heroine to life--after all, she knows the material best. While some listeners may find Georgia's stories and high jinks a bit trite, this will be a fun listen for fans of British chick-lit and Georgia's past stories. While the narration may tend toward the overdramatic, it's in line with Georgia's theatrics. M.R.P. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine"
