Last year Scottie, Tay, Amanda, and Bella were brought together by knitting needles in a friendship that defies all the odds in Chicks with Sticks (It's a Purl Thing). "Scottie, Tay, Amanda, and Bella continue knitting and developing the friendship that began in IT'S A PURL THING. This episode is less about knitting and more about relationships--balancing friendships and boy-girl relationships as Scottie obsesses over her first boyfriend. Liz Morton's voice has the fake enthusiasm you often hear in teenaged girls. The characters all sound the same, and there's little life in any of them. The overabundance of abbreviation slang like "WPI" and "LYS" will quickly date the story, and Scottie's over-the-top self-absorption soon gets tiresome. Chapter titles seem gimmicky, using knitting terms with minimal explanation. Four project directions included in the book are missing from the audio. N.E.M. (c) AudioFile 2007, Portland, Maine"
