New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis returns to Heartbreaker Bay with a fun and festive holiday novella!
ItA??s Christmas Eve and Rory Andrews is desperate to get home to the family she hasnA??t seen in years. Problem is, her only ride to Lake Tahoe comes in the form of the annoyingly handsome Max Stranton, and his big, goofy, lovable dog Carl.
Hours stuck in a truck with the dead sexy Max sounds like a fate worse than death (not), but RoryA??s out of options. SheA??s had a crush on Max since high school and she knows heA??s attracted to her, too. But they have historyA?¦ and Max is the only one who knows why it went south.
TheyA??ve done a good job of ignoring their chemistry so far, but a long road trip in a massive blizzard might be just what they need to face their pastA?¦ and one steamy, snowy night is all it takes to bring Max and Rory together at last.

"Rory Andrews vows to shed her troubled past and go home for Christmas this year, even if it means taking a ride from high school crush Max Stranton and his sweet dog, Carl. Narrator Karen White alternates the thoughts of Rory and Max as they endure a snowy mountain journey. White keeps Max's incomprehensible resentment a satisfying mystery through his brusque responses and Rory's rising curiosity. However, White's voicings do not always match Shalvis's characters. Her delivery sounds flat and nasal, at odds with the inner monologues of a 23-year-old woman and her rugged companion. Overall, though, White's emotional range compensates for the painfully earnest passion. C.A. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine"
