Professional reviews

"AimŽe Leduc is a Parisian computer security analyst who finds herself caught up in the murder investigation of a Haitian professor. At the same time, an illegal Haitian immigrant walks into AimŽe's office and announces she is her sister. Carine Montbertrand is adept with the French place names and expressions, and she successfully creates multiple French and Haitian characters with distinct accents. The dialogue lacks originality, but Montbertrand does her best with it. She is expert at delivering the frenetic pacing as the stubborn AimŽe races through university laboratories, libraries, cafŽs, and Paris's catacombs seeking answers that involve corruption, international finance, and voodoo.
