"You're listening, they're watching--but until Chapter 33, you really don't know what's going on. Even though this book is narrated by one of the best, Scott Brick, your impatience grows. The main character, Patrick Davis, is a failed screenwriter, due to an alleged altercation with a big-time movie star. Then he and his wife start receiving DVDs apparently taken of him and his spouse from inside his house. More DVDs, more false clues, and then a homicide. Still you wonder what this is all about. The novel is too long and drawn out. But for the superb reading of Brick, you'd never stick it out until the pieces of the puzzle start to come together, but ever so slowly. As usual, Brick's reading is slick and fast paced. And after a long wait, because you actually hung on, Brick and the author deliver a surprising sequence of events. A.L.H.
