Believed to be co-written by another playwright, possibly George Wilkins, this drama presents the story of Pericles, a prince who must flee king Antiochus of Antioch, whom he has accused of having incestuous feelings for his daughter. Shipwrecked, Pericles then wins Thaisa, princess of Pentapolis, as his wife. On the couple's journey home, Thaisa gives birth to a daughter, but is presumed dead. The daughter is given to foster parents and the mother left for dead; Pericles and his family are only reunited after many adventures. Show More Show Less
