"All's fair in love and war, whether on Earth or in the Asteroid Belt. Martin Humphries continues his quest to conquer all, most especially Amanda. Amanda had hoped that her marriage to Lars would make Humphries move on. Instead it has fueled his desire to have her. This full-cast performance, led by Ira Claffey and Amanda Karr, gives a spirited delivery of a fast-moving and complex plot. Characterizations developed in Book One of the series are carried over, with the exception of the transition of Amanda from a strong, accomplished woman to a timid, simpering one. Nonetheless, the audio performance is engaging, and the performers work together with facility. J.E.M. (c) AudioFile 2005, Portland, Maine"
