Description

Award-winning comedian Paula Poundstone is legendary for her spontaneous wit and razor-sharp humor. She is a popular panelist on NPR's Wait Wait...?on't Tell Me! and tours regularly, keeping audiences laughing in her one-woman shows. In North by Northwest, Paula is at her best in two memorable performances, one recorded in Bayfield, Wisconsin, at Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua and the other at the historic Aladdin Theater in Portland, Oregon. Join Paula Poundstone in her element: sharing too much information, telling unpredictable stories, and interacting with her audience with a spontaneity that is considered without peer. Says Paula about her first double live CD, "Laughter is the best medicine, and I prescribe two CDs when symptoms occur."

Professional reviews

"Paula Poundstone is funny. If you've ever seen one of her shows or heard her on NPR's "Wait Wait . . . Don't Tell Me!" you know that. And she's very funny performing these two shows, recorded live in Wisconsin and Portland, Oregon. She interacts with audience members, tells meandering anecdotes about her kids and her cats, circles back unexpectedly to something she'd been talking about 20 minutes earlier, and has her appreciative audience in near-constant stitches. Listener, she'll have you laughing, too. Each performance is about an hour long, and while some edits are detectable (presumably to cut for length), they don't interrupt the flow of the show. This small package offers a big listening reward--it's guaranteed laugh therapy. Thanks, Paula. J.M.D. © AudioFile 2016, Portland, Maine"
